A long weekend calls for a road trip, and rumor has it the foliage in the western part of the state is glowing.
You can start your travels in Peterborough, at the Mariposa Museum & World Culture Center, where you can view an exhibit of photos by Becky Field, author of “Different Roots, Common Dreams” and an exhibit of art by Segun Olorunfemi. Just across the street is the Sharon Arts Center, currently hosting its 70th Annual Members Exhibition.
After you have had your fill of visual art, you can take in the 24 Hour Plays Festival in Jaffrey. Over 30 local writers, directors, actors, stage managers and tech staff will come together for the first time on Thursday, October 7th. They will collaborate over the next 24 hours to produce six brand new ten minute plays that debut for one night only at the Jaffrey Woman’s Club on October 8th.
Round off your grand tour with a stop at the 49th Annual Bottle Show & Sale on October 9th at Keene High School, but you might first want to study up on early New Hampshire glass—extra points if you can locate the State Historical Marker in Temple.
