Saint Anselm College, the Catholic liberal arts college in Goffstown, is getting a new president in July.
Dr. Joseph A. Favazza will become the 11th president in the college's 129-year history.
Favazza is a former professor of religious studies and most recently served as provost and vice president of academic affairs at Stonehill College in Massachusetts for seven years.
Favazza takes the reigns from Dr. Steven R. DiSalvo, who served as president from 2013 until this year. Under Disalvo's watch, Saint Anselm's national rankings and rates of student retention improved, but the college faced budget problems last year.
DiSalvo was the first president of Saint Anselm who was not a Benedictine monk. Favazza will be the second.
