The race for New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District has attracted about $1.2 million in outside spending so far, with most of it going to Democrats Maura Sullivan and Chris Pappas.
The latest totals heading into Tuesday’s primary show that outside groups have spent more than $800,000 on digital ads, direct mail and TV spots to support Sullivan. Most of that money has come from a pair of veterans-focused groups — Votevets and With Honor — with the rest coming from Women Vote!, an arm of EMILY’s List.
Equality PAC, which supports LGBT candidates, has spent about $228,000 on mail and digital ads to support Pappas.
There’s been much less outside spending on the right. But a group Seal PAC (short for "Supporting Electing American Leaders") has spent about $7,000 on digital ads for Republican Eddie Edwards.
So far, Republican Andy Sanborn is the only candidate on the receiving end of negative outside spending. A group called American Potential just dropped $4,000 on digital advertising to oppose his campaign. (There’s not a lot of publicly available information about who’s funding the group or what other candidates it supports, though a PAC with the same name and Federal Election Commission ID number has reported spending money to support Carly Fiorina in the past.)
