One of the operating rooms at the Manchester VA Medical Center has been closed again due to the presence of flies.
A spokesperson for the Manchester VA says the operating room was closed as soon as staff discovered the issue. The other two operating rooms remain open.
The VA says no patients were negatively impacted.
Flies in the Manchester VA's operating rooms have been a problem for many years, despite the VA's attempts to remedy the problem with pest control companies and consultations with entomologists.
The persistence of flies was cited as one reason for the removal of both the medical center's director and chief of staff in 2017.
The VA says staff are working to "fix the issue and reopen the operating room as soon as possible."
