Brooklyn Startup Lures Tourists to N.H. With Instagrammable Cabins in the Woods

The Getaway Cabin

A Brooklyn-based travel startup is looking to lure tourists to Southern New Hampshire with an outpost of trendy cabins in the woods.

The company, called Getaway, markets the small cabins to millennials who want to de-stress, unplug and escape a major city for a bit. Jon Staff is founder and CEO of the company. "It turns out, if you're trying to escape Boston, the obvious and best place to do that is in New Hampshire," Staff said.

The highly Instagrammable tiny homes set in the woods come complete with snacks and running water. A night will set you back at least $100.

The cabins are all of about 150 square feet. The company keeps the exact location a secret, revealing it shortly before one's stay - or "spontaneous escape" from the big city.

Staff says the company has seen strong demand for the New Hampshire cabins, so they've added 29 -- for a total of 43 -- at what the company calls its "Boston outpost." There are similar camps for New York and D.C.

You don't have to be coming from Boston to book a cabin in New Hampshire, though. Staff says locals are just fine too.
