The state’s Health department says New Hampshire’s fourth and final medical marijuana dispensary will open Thursday in Merrimack.
Patients and their designated caregivers must choose one dispensary from which to obtain therapeutic cannabis. Now, patients who qualify in Southern New Hampshire have a dispensary nearby: Prime Alternative Treatment Center, on Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack.
Although the law legalizing the treatment went into effect three years ago, the state’s first dispensary, located in Plymouth, didn’t open until the end of April.
Dispensaries in Lebanon and Dover have opened since.
So far, more than 1,100 patients with serious illnesses are approved to use the New Hampshire dispensaries.
