Foster Approved As Next Attorney General For N.H.

The Executive Council has voted unanimously to approve former state Sen. Joseph Foster as New Hampshire's next attorney general.The 53-year-old Foster is a lawyer from Nashua.

The council voted Wednesday.

Foster currently leads the bankruptcy practice for the McLane Law Firm, one of the state's largest firms. He served as a state senator from 2002 to 2008 and held the position of majority leader in 2007.

Gov. Maggie Hassan nominated Foster. She served in the Senate with him. She had praised him for bringing lawmakers together to pass tough legislation to protect children from predators and improve the state's judicial system.
