Police have canceled this weekend’s fireworks festival in Jaffrey because of a bomb threat. Friday morning police received report of a written threat to Jaffrey town officials, the Chamber of Commerce and the Keene Sentinel newspaper. Police say the threat was directed at people attending the fireworks show.
The threat claims that a direct violent action would take place at or near the local airport, where the festival was scheduled to take place.
The Jaffrey Police Department is leading the investigation, along with state police, the New Hampshire Attorney Generals office, the U.S. Attorney and federal agents. Police are asking for anyone with information to contact the Jaffrey Police Department.
