Southern New Hampshire University Partners with Walgreens on Veterans' Education

Southern New Hampshire University is partnering with Walgreens to expand higher education for veterans.

SNHU and Walgreens will work together to help up to 5,000 U.S. veterans who work at Walgreens earn discounted masters or bachelor's degrees from the school.

David Coyner is Vice President of Sales for SNHU Workforce Partnerships. He says Walgreens approached him about a year ago about a partnership.

"Very few organizations come and say we are building an infrastructure to hire a high amount of veterans and change their lives over the next five years. That's a very bold statement," he says.

The program will be offered at Walgreens throughout the U.S.

Sarah Gibson joined NHPR's newsroom in 2018. She reports on education and demographics.
