Earth Week shines a light on the environmental issues we face in New Hampshire, nationally and globally. The commemorative week runs this year from Friday, April 16, and concludes with Earth Day on Thursday, April 22.
As part of the global Covering Climate Now effort, NHPR and other member stations of the New England News Collaborative will mark Earth Week by airing and publishing a number of stories relating to climate change, energy, and environmental challenges and solutions. For NHPR, the Earth Week effort is an extension of its regular, comprehensive environmental reporting, via the By Degrees climate change reporting project.
On NHPR, look for stories from the collaboration every day on-air and at nhpr.org, including the following news from NHPR’s newsroom:
- Monday, April 19 – NHPR’s climate, energy and environment reporter Annie Ropeik takes a look at the role of youth activists in the environmental movement in New Hampshire.
- Thursday, April 22 – Annie Ropeik takes a look at flood insurance inequity in New Hampshire.
- Thursday, April 22 – NHPR’s daily news talk show The Exchange will air a regional roundtable on signs of progress in fighting climate change, with Annie Ropeik and other environmental-focused reporters from throughout New England taking part. Send your comments or questions to email@example.com and listen in from 9 to 10 a.m., or tune to the rebroadcast from 9 to 10 p.m.
