Two Polls Show Clinton Maintaining Lead Over Trump in N.H.

Two new polls show Democrat Hillary Clinton maintaining her lead over Republican Donald Trump in New Hampshire.

A UMass Lowell/7News poll released Thursday found 45 percent of likely voters backing Clinton, and 39 percent backing Trump. Libertarian Gary Johnson had 9 percent support in the poll.

In the survey of 517 likely voters conducted Oct. 7-11, 4 percent of voters said they were still undecided.

Another poll released Friday morning found a tighter race.

The WBUR/MassInc poll has Clinton leading Trump by just three points, 41-38. That’s within the 4.4 percentage point margin of error. That same poll found Johnson at 11 percent. The live telephone survey of 501 likely voters was conducted Oct. 10-12.

Clinton had a 7-point lead in the same poll taken in late September.

In the U.S. Senate race, the UMass Lowell/7News poll found Republican Kelly Ayotte with a slim lead over Democrat Maggie Hassan, 45-44.

The WBUR/MassInc poll has Ayotte and Hassan tied, each at 47 percent.
