Weather Update: Storm Brings Slick Conditions To New Hampshire

Dan Tuohy / NHPR

Updated Tuesday at 9:45 a.m.:

A mix of snow and rain are moving through New Hampshire, making for a wet and occasionally slippery Tuesday morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service, mixed precipitation is expected throughout today with a winter weather advisory in effect until 7 p.m. this evening.

Total snow accumulations of up to an inch and a light glaze of ice are expected in portions of central New Hampshire and southern Maine.

“It’s overall a pretty weak system,” says National Weather Service meteorologist Michael Clair. “It’s not a historical storm by any means. It’s that early season, first real taste of winter.”

Tuesday afternoon could bring brief bursts of light snow to the entire region.

The system will clear out Tuesday evening, with temperatures plummeting into the teens.
