New Hampshire officials are marking Memorial Day by unveiling a monument dedicated to those killed in the conflicts in Iraq to Afghanistan.

Governor Maggie Hassan and US Senator Kelly Ayotte are among those speaking at the dedication of the Global War On Terror Monument today at the State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

The 12-foot-tall granite memorial features four "hero walls" with the names of 50 men mostly killed training for or fighting in conflicts overseas since September 11, 2001.

The keynote speaker is Staff Sergeant Ryan Pitts, who won the Medal of Honor in 2014 for fending off a Taliban attack during one of the bloodiest battles of the Afghan war.
