Audio Postcard: Tell Your Great Piece Of Fiction In Three Minutes

NHPR / Michael Brindley

Coming up with a great story is difficult enough.

But try telling that story in three minutes.

That’s the premise of the Three Minute Fiction Slam, an event organized each year by the New Hampshire Writers Project.

Writers are put to the test, asked to be both concise and captivating, while reading in front of a panel of judges.

NHPR’s Michael Brindley visited a recent regional competition in Manchester to find out what the fiction slam is all about.

The final regional competition for the three-minute fiction slam will be at the Halligan Tavern in Derry on February 25.

Winners of the regional contests will compete at the finals at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester on March 6.
