N.H. State Rep. Charged with Assaulting Local Gun Activist

A New Hampshire State Rep from Concord is charged with assaulting a well-known gun activist in the state.

The alleged incident happened in November during a state senate recount.

Susan Olsen claims she was sitting next to Democratic Representative Kathy Rogers and asked her to move the ballots closer. Olsen says that’s when the 62-year-old  6thterm Rep. grabbed her and then hit her on the head. The charges were filed eight months later.

Roger's attorney Bill Christie says his client is shocked by the allegations.

"Given the timing -  we are concerned that it is a politically motivated complaint filed by a political adversary," Christie said in a phone interview Friday. "We are looking forward to working cooperatively with the state to try to bring this to a swift resolution."

Rogers is scheduled to be arraigned on September 29th in Concord.
