A Nashua police officer was justified in using deadly force during an incident last September, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General's office.
According to the AG, Nashua police officer John Colangelo shot 59-year-old William Case during a standoff in which Case brandished an air rifle, which police said looked consistent with a firearm.
Another officer fired a non-lethal beanbag round at Case at almost the same moment Colangelo fired.
Case survived his wounds and is currently facing a charge of criminal threatening.
The AG’s office says it will release a more detailed report on the use of deadly force once the criminal charges against Case are concluded.
