Police Investigate Threats Made Against Manchester Hospitals

Manchester police continue to investigate a threat made early Sunday morning toward two hospitals in New Hampshire's largest city.

Police have not described the nature of the threat related to Catholic Medical Center and Elliot Hospital, but said there is no risk to the public at this time.

In a statement, CMC said the hospital is working with police on its investigation.

It continued: "CMC has taken precautionary measures by controlling access and enhancing security on campus. We will continue to have added security in place, and medical services for patients will go uninterrupted."

Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig said the Manchester Police Department immediately increased patrol presence around the hospitals. "There is no immediate danger to the public at large," Craig said. "I appreciate the swift response by MPD and thank them for their continued vigilance to keep Manchester safe."
