The New Hampshire Attorney General's office announced Tuesday it is one of several agencies looking into allegations of sexual misconduct at Dartmouth College.

Earlier this week, three professors at the college were placed on paid leave, which the college announced after the school's newspaper inquired about the matter.

In a statement Tuesday morning, Attorney General Gordon McDonald says his office has learned that the college has received allegations of sexual misconduct, and as a result, will be investigating along with the Grafton County Attorney's Office, the New Hampshire State Police, the Grafton County Sheriff's Department, and the Hanover Police Department.

In an email to students, College President Philip Hanlon said the school was conducting its own internal investigations.

"Sexual misconduct and harassment are unacceptable and have no place at Dartmouth," the email read in part.

According to the AG's statement, Dartmouth is cooperating with investigators.
