UNH's 'Social Innovation Challenge' is Looking for Applicants
The University of New Hampshire is accepting applications for the 2017 Social Venture Innovation Challenge.
The contest calls for creative, business-oriented solutions to social and environmental problems.
Applicants submit their pitches via 3-minute videos. The winners receive cash prizes and support in getting their ideas of the ground.
The competition is open to students and the general public.
“We want to make sure that -students especially- know that no matter what field they go into it, they can both do well and do good," says Faina Bukher with the UNH Center for Social Innovation and Enterprise.
Previous winners include proposals to offer broadband internet for low-income housing, a service that rates insurance companies, and a non-profit that resells the furniture left behind each year by departing college students.
Applications are accepted through mid-November.
