The Exchange presents a special broadcast of Writers on a New England Stage with environmental activist Erin Brockovich.

Brockovich became famous more than 20 years ago when a film starring Julia Roberts dramatized her legal fight with Pacific Gas & Electric, which was found to have contaminated the drinking water of the town of Hinkley, California with a toxic chemical known as hexavalent Chromium.
Since then, she’s continued to fight companies responsible for pollution. She also works with concerned citizens to help them improve their water systems.
In her book, Superman’s Not Coming, Brockovich describes numerous chemicals that exist in American water supplies today--including hexavalent Chromium, chloramine, lead, and two chemicals of particular interest to New Hampshire: PFOS and PFOA.
In this interview recorded during a virtual event on Thursday, April 29, host Peter Biello talks with Brockovich about those chemicals and what ordinary citizens can do if they want to improve the quality of their drinking water.
