The Exchange wants to help listeners get to know the candidates running in the crowded race for New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District.

"Race for the 1st" is a series of 20-minute interviews with the candidates, kicking off Monday, April 2 and running through the spring.

The interviews will take place live on Mondays at 9:40 a.m. They will be broadcast on air, as well as on Facebook Live.

New Hampshire's CD1 is one of the most closely watched swing districts in the country. Control of the seat has flipped back and forth between Republicans and Democrats fives times since 2007.

The district covers a large chunk of the eastern part of the state, including greater Manchester, plus much of the Seacoast and Lakes Region.

Here is a rundown of scheduled candidate appearances on The Exchange:

April 2: Mindi Messmer (D)   |   April 9: Terence O’Rourke (D)

April 16: Deaglan McEachern (D)   |   April 23: Mark Hounsell (R)

April 30: Levi Sanders (D)   |   May 7: Maura Sullivan (D)

May 14: Lincoln Soldati (D)   |   May 21: Mark Mackenzie (D)

June 4: Chris Pappas (D)   |   June 18: Andy Sanborn (R)

June 25: Eddie Edwards (R)

Listeners are encouraged to be part of the conversation. Questions for the candidates can be emailed to exchange@nhpr.org. You can also call (800) 892-6477 to record a message with your question before the show, or to call in during the live broadcast.
