Nearly 20,000 people in New Hampshire were still without power due to high winds early Tuesday evening.
Most of the outages are with Eversourcein Portsmouth and other parts of the Seacoast. The New Hampshire Electric Co-op also has large outages in the Lakes Region and Eastern White Mountains, including, as of 5:30 p.m., nearly 3,000 in Alton.
The utilities say gusty winds overnight and through the day damaged poles and wires, and brought down trees in some areas.

The continued wind storm has delayed repairs, but utilities expect most people's power will be restored by tonight.
Peak wind gusts topped 50 mph across the state today. The top of Mount Washington recorded a gust of 121 mph.
