The winter storm sweeping across New Hampshire Tuesday is bringing snow, sleet and freezing rain in parts of the state.
Just after 11 a.m., utilities reported about 5,500 scattered outages statewide.
Eversource had 4,249 customers impacted, and Unitil had 270, with most in its Capital Region. N.H. Electric Coop reported 808, as of 11:15 a.m.
Southern New Hampshire and the coast are getting heavy rain as of 8:30 a.m.
N.H. DOT encourages motorists to use caution driving. Highway speeds were lowered to 45 mph on Route 101 from Epping to Hampton, I-93 from Tilton to Lincoln, and I-89 from New London north.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warming for northern New Hampshire, and a winter storm advisory for central and southern New Hampshire.
The storm is forecast to bring significant snow beginning late Monday, with a changeover to sleet and freezing rain on Tuesday.
