Former Berlin Police Officer Accused of Photographing Patient Inside Hospital
A former Berlin police officer is facing criminal charges for allegedly photographing and videotaping a patient in psychiatric distress at a hospital.
Philip Pelletier, 31, is accused of taking the photographs while working an overtime shift at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in early 2019.
The photos and videos, taken without permission, were of a man waiting to be transported and involuntarily committed to New Hampshire State Hospital.
No other information about the alleged incident was immediately available.
Pelletier is facing five misdemeanor counts of violation of privacy. He has not yet entered a plea.
Pelletier was fired from the Berlin Police Department and was stripped of his state law enforcement credentials earlier this year.
