With the temporary closing of stores, New Hampshire’s Main Streets, the places where young and old, commuters and locals, all mix together, are suddenly silent.

We wanted to hear what this surreal moment is like right now for the people behind the counter at these centers of town life. NHPR reached out to both long-established and some newer venues in Concord to see what happens to a community’s favorite gathering spots when we can’t gather.
