New Hampshire-based white nationalist Christopher Cantwell remains in custody in Virginia, where he's raising money and hosting a podcast from his jail cell.

Cantwell rose to national prominence after being featured in a Vice documentary on the clashes in Charlottesville in August. He was originally held on three felony charges surrounding his use of tear gas and other substances, but a judge dismissed two of those charges late last week.

To produce his podcast, Cantwell calls a friend who then records the audio and posts it online.

Cantwell also called into a show hosted by fellow former Free Stater Ian Freeman of Keene Saturday.

“I can’t wait to get back to Keene so we can have the ‘crying Nazi’ and ‘redneck Muslim’ all in one place,” he said on the show. Cantwell has been called the “crying Nazi” since posting a tearful video about his arrest warrant in August. “Redneck Muslim” refers to newly arrived Keene resident Will Coley, a friend of Freeman’s, who plans to open a mosque in town this fall.  Coley also appeared on the show Saturday.

Cantwell has raised nearly $30,000 toward a $75,000 goal on a crowdfunding site he promotes on his podcast.  He’s so far been denied bond in Virginia.
