Gov. Maggie Hassan has signed off on a bill that expands the use of medical marijuana to those with epilepsy, lupus and Parkinson’s disease. Currently about a dozen other illnesses are included under the law.
The state legalized medical marijuana in 2013 but has yet to open any treatment centers. As of now three companies are in the running to open four dispensaries statewide. The Department of Health and Human Services doesn’t expect the dispensaries to be open until 8 to 9 months.
Last month a bill that would have decriminalized a half an ounce of marijuana was tabled in the Senate, more or less, killing the bill.
