The Department of Veterans Affairs is holding a town hall meeting in New Hampshire to answer any questions about a new community care program that it will roll out next week.
The event takes place from Monday, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Manchester VA Medical Center.
The town hall will discuss the VA Mission Act of 2018, which supporters say will offer more health care options for veterans. The act allows veterans to seek care with private doctors and hospital under certain conditions, including when medical services aren't available at a VA facility or wait times are too long. The initiative begins Thursday.
Advocates say as many as half of the approximately seven million veterans seen at VA health facilities could receive their care elsewhere.
