Former State Police Director Bob Quinn has been tapped to be the state’s next Commissioner of the Department of Safety.
Gov. Chris Sununu announced on Tuesday that he plans to nominate Quinn during Wednesday’s Executive Council meeting. Quinn, who lives in Seabrook, is currently the Assistant Commissioner of the Department.
He would replace John Barthelmes, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
Sununu will also nominate Perry Plummer of Dover to serve as Assistant Commissioner of the Department. Plummer is currently the Director of Homeland Security for the state.
A confirmation vote could take place later this month.
Barthelmes held the top public safety job in the state for 12 years.
