Charlottesville Vigil Planned Up in the North Country

FACEBOOK

A group in the North Country will host a vigil Friday in response to the violence in Charlottesville. There will be similar events in Keene and Portsmouth on Sunday.

Event organizer Corry Hughes of Jefferson says after hearing the news out of Charlottesville – she felt she needed to do something.

But making a trip to last week's demonstrations in Concord or Nashua from the North Country - was too much.

So she put together a local vigil against “hate and violence.”

"Let’s do something here in our own communities because it matters up here too," Hughes said.

The vigil will take place at 5 p.m. in Littleton on the steps of the Post Office. Hughes says she expects around 50 people to attend.
