Report: Edelblut Forwarded Job Post To Croydon School Board Member
A newspaper reports that New Hampshire Education Commissioner Frank Edelblut forwarded a department job opening to a Croydon School Board member, then passed along an application from her husband to a human resources administrator.
The Valley News reports reported on the email exchange from this month, obtained through a Right-to-Know request.
Edelblut, a former Republican House member, sponsored a bill that would've legalized Croydon's practice of sending children to private school using tax money. He donated $1,000 to the board's legal defense against an Education Department lawsuit.
Emails show Edelblut forwarded an education consultant job that appeared to be listed internally to board member Jody Underwood. Her husband, Ian Underwood, applied.
Jody Underwood said she initially found the job listing on the department's website, but couldn't find it later.
Edelblut declined to comment, saying it's department policy not to discuss personnel matters.
