Another phase of the expansion of Interstate 93 begins today.
Conrad Skov, contract administrator with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, says work crews will begin construction from Exit 5 in Londonderry to the split between I-93 and Interstate 293 in Manchester.
"We're going to start with clearing some trees along the northbound barrel, and a little along the southbound to start with," Skov says.
He adds crews will also "do some excavation work [and] get the dirt moving."
Skov says there will be at least two lanes of traffic during the day, though he says traffic may be tight as work continues.
The DOT will have signs alerting drivers to the construction activity.
