There's a search for a new operator of Robie's Country Store, a longtime campaign stop for candidates in New Hampshire's presidential primary.

The store has been in Hooksett for 126 years. The last manager closed shop in September, saying the long hours were difficult.

A nonprofit group called the Robie's Country Store Historic Preservation Corporation has owned the store building and related memorabilia since 1988, and is seeking a new operator. St. Mary's Bank recently awarded a $1,000 community outreach grant to the corporation to help in its search.

The corporation has formed an interim committee to seek a new shop keeper, and safeguard the vast collection of campaign posters, photos, bumper stickers, buttons and other political memorabilia.

In 2000, Robie's was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
