Comcast Subscribers To See 1.6% Average Increase In Bills

If you’re a Comcast cable subscriber, expect to see an increase in your next bill.

Comcast subscribers will see an average increase of 1.6 percent in their bills, starting with their next billing period.

The higher rates go into effect January 22.

Different services will see different rates of increases.

Comcast spokesman Marc Goodman says investments in new technology and infrastructure required the increase.

He says the company continues to make investments in its network and next-generation technology, multiplatform video and improved customer service.

Comcast has roughly 300,000 customers in New Hampshire.

Customers who receive services as part of a promotional offer will not see an increase after the promotion or bundle expires.

Comcast is not alone in having to increases rates.

Satellite television provider DirecTV recently announced its fees would be increasing by an average of 4.5 percent in 2013. Dish Network also recently said it would have to increase rates.
