New Hampshire Public Radio’s daily call-in show The Exchange will be in the Monadnock Region for a special live broadcast from Keene State College on Thursday morning, August 16.
The Monadnock Region of New Hampshire encompasses the city of Keene and 40 regional towns. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, the total population of the region numbers just 131,400 residents. Labeled the “Quiet Corner” of the state, the area boasts distinct features: small communities line the Connecticut River; Mount Monadnock - long cited as one of the most popular mountains in the world for day climbing – looms over much of the region; and several cultural or educational landmarks have longstanding roots in the community, including the famed MacDowell Colony for artists in Peterborough, Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, and Keene State College – the setting for the discussion.
Before a live audience, host Laura Knoy – a graduate of Keene High School herself - will lead a conversation about the challenges and opportunities inherent to this southwest corner of New Hampshire.
Laura will be joined by a panel of community experts from the region who are working on many of these issues in their respective communities.

The Exchange appearance in Keene is part of the program’s Going Local series.
