Mark Melamut

For the past few weeks, Rabbi Mark Melamut has been practicing the traditional four questions that are asked during the first night of Passover with his 10-year-old son.

Passover started on Wednesday this year, and in normal times, Melamut would invite friends and family to his home for a Seder, a big ceremonial meal.

Nana never made this dish. There is no family recipe for Timpano that has passed down through generations of Parrellas. But when it comes to inspiring nostalgia for the cooking of my grandmother, there’s nothing like Big Night.

Parents and children from across the state attended the annual Governor’s Easter Egg Hunt in Concord.

Governor Hassan was on hand to kick off the Easter egg hunt. She extended special thanks to the organizers of the event as well as to the state employees in attendance:

“We are so grateful for the work all of you do and we are so happy that the weather is cooperating and that your children have decided to join us too.”

A crowd of children swarmed across the Bridges House grounds, searching high and low for the multi-colored eggs.

But a pair of New Hampshire entrepreneurs hope they can speed up the process.

It’s fitting that the idea for a prayer-based social network came to Jamie Coughlin and his brother Adam while they were parked on a pew at Mass.

The Easter Weasel

Apr 5, 2012

Before we go today, we wanted to leave listeners with a little taste of Easter magic to come.  Last month, we spoke with Erika Eichenseer, she’s the cultural curator of Prinz Rosszwifl, a recently published personal collection of five-hundred lost fables and fairy-tales discovered in a German archive.  Most of us are well acquainted with the tradition of the Easter Bunny, Erika regaled with the tale of supernatural animal we don’t usually associate with the April holiday - we’re calling it “The Legend of the Easter Weasel”.
