N.H. State House Bicentennial Events Set

A formal celebration of the New Hampshire State House's bicentennial is scheduled for June 2.

The schedule is set for a week-long celebration of the New Hampshire Statehouse's Bicentennial.

While various events have been held in recent years, the formal celebration starts Sunday, June 2, with an opening ceremony, reenactments of the first Statehouse session in 1819 and tours of the building.

On Monday, there will be special roundtable discussions featuring former governors and executive councilors.

Tuesday's schedule features the state Supreme Court hearing oral arguments in Representative's Hall and an event highlighting the history of the Statehouse press corps. VISIT The Dome in this 360-view captured in 2017 by NHPR's Hannah McCarthy:

Wednesday is devoted to the state's cultural heritage and arts, while Thursday will be Homecoming Day for former lawmakers. A "New Hampshire Made" street market on Friday and closing ceremonies on Saturday round out the week.
