Firefighters from New Hampshire are again volunteering to help battle wildfires in the west.
A group of firefighters department from Allenstown this weekend to meet up with other firefighters in Pennsylvania.
From there, they are head to the northern Rockies coordination center in Montana.
Capt. Douglas Miner, a forest ranger with the New Hampshire Division of Forests and Lands, says the New England crew will be assigned to one of the 66 plus active fires in the western states.
The work will be challenging with firefighters working 16-hour days in the steep mountains while wearing 40 pounds of gear.
