New Group Aims to Modernize N.H. Fish and Game

A new coalition comprised of hunters, outdoors enthusiasts and wildlife advocates alike has formed with the goal of modernizing the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

The Caledonian Record reports the N.H. Wildlife Coalition met last week in Concord to develop a plan for introducing legislation to broaden the agency's financial base and make it more representative of residents in the 21st century.

John Harrigan, a co-founder of the coalition, says making the Fish and Game Department more inclusive of all outdoor user groups is beneficial in the long run. The coalition's logic is that a broader base would yield more legislative clout, which in turn would provide more of a secure and sustainable future for the agency.

The coalition currently has approximately two dozen members across the state.
