Lucky Us: Winter Storm 'Redeveloped' Before Hitting N.H.

Brady Carlson, NHPR

Snow has been falling across New Hampshire again, the latest winter storm in a season that’s been full of them.

There’s a winter storm warning in effect for southern and eastern parts of the state, and a winter weather advisory for the rest of the state.

Many schools canceled classes again today; others planned early dismissals.

The heaviest snow has been falling Tuesday afternoon, ahead of the commute home. State Police said drivers should travel no faster than 45 miles per hour.

The storm, by the way, started as a low-pressure area in the Midwest, according to meteorologist Gary Best of Hometown Forecast Services. which traveled toward the east and "redeveloped" as it reached New Hampshire and New England, bringing in new energy and moisture.

If you've had enough of snow, Best says there's good news on the way in the near future: "We're looking at some milder temperatures for the end of the week," he says. "And I don't really see any more snowstorms in sight until maybe by the middle of next week. So we do get about a week's break."
