Some New Hampshire voters say campaign paraphernalia at polling places is putting them on edge this election.

Moira Kilroy of Laconia says she saw everything from MAGA hats to a Trump-inspired pick-up truck blasting The Village People's 1970s hit "Y.M.C.A."

"I could feel my heart racing and I noticed my body feeling tense," said Kilroy, who recognized this truck from her community. "We're all very aware of the atmosphere that we're living in right now and the energy that sort of followed us to this day."

Recently, Kilroy moved from a part of New Hampshire she describes as "more blue" to Laconia which she views as a "little more red."

"I noticed that while I drive around town every day," she said. "As I walked into the polling place with, you know, Trump signs and folks wearing the MAGA hats...then having people sort of not keep the social distance created a more of a tense atmosphere for me."

Election officials in Laconia said they had to report one person to the state who did not remove a Trump mask after being asked.

It is against state law to wear slogans in support of a campaign inside a polling place. The state says that law doesn't apply to Black Lives Matter or slogans in support of advocacy groups.

Residents who violate this law can still vote.
