New Hampshire's largest utility says it is announcing a "major jobs initiative" involving energy projects.

Eversource has scheduled a news conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday at its facility in Hooksett.

The utility says the announcement includes a partnership to train workers that will help the regional grid meet 21st century demands.

Scheduled to speak are Bill Quinlan, president of New Hampshire Electric Operations at Eversource; Joe Casey, representative for business development of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; and Allen Bouthillier, founder and owner of A&B Excavating in Lancaster.

Eversource has proposed the Northern Pass electrical transmission project that would carry 1,200 megawatts of Canadian hydropower to power-hungry southern New England markets.
