Dozens of people gathered at the Islamic Center of Greater Concord Friday to remember the 50 people killed at two mosques last week in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Representatives from local churches and temples spoke to a sea of umbrellas as people stood in the rain. They also took turns reading the names of the people lost in the attack.
Afterward, several joined the afternoon prayer inside the mosque.
Imam Mustafa Akaya said he's received a lot of support from the interfaith community.
"We are so grateful to them, because they show us that's how America should be," Akaya said.
Raz Chaudhary, a member of New Hampshire's Muslim community for decades, said everyone is feeling the events of last week.
"It's like a hurt, it's hurt,” Chaudhary said. “It’s a waste of life."
He too says he's felt comforted by support of his neighbors.
