Businessman Donald Trump, the front runner among the field of GOP presidential candidates, held his first New Hampshire town hall meeting in Derry Wednesday night.
Trump took roughly a half-dozen questions from the packed house at Pinkerton Academy, one of which targeted his lack of stated policy positions.
“I was coming today and I went on your website to see some of your policy positions and the only thing there is immigration reform,” the man asked. “Can you speak to any of your other plans or policies?”
“Well, I did a big policy position on immigration and I think most people really like it,” Trump responded.
Trump went on, saying that putting policy positions in writing can do more harm than good.
“We have to have flexibility,” he said. “When you do 14 points, you know, the second point may change and it may be much better than the second point you put down on the policy position. And that will throw off the rest of the points.”
During the hour-long town hall meeting, Trump reiterated his pledge to build a wall along the Mexico-U.S. border, promising to build "the greatest wall you've ever seen."
"I want it to be so beautiful because maybe someday they're going to call it the Trump Wall," he said. "So I have to make sure it's beautiful, right? I'll be very proud of that wall."
He also criticized the proposed nuclear deal with Iran and threw jabs at former Florida governor Jeb Bush, who was hosting a town hall meeting in nearby Merrimack.
