'Lights for Liberty' vigils planned across New Hampshire

Lights for Liberty

Candlelight vigils focusing on the treatment of immigrants and asylum seekers at the border will take place across New Hampshire Friday night.

They're part of a national event called “Lights for Liberty,” happening across the country.

“We believe that these child prisons should be closed immediately, and the children released to their relatives and extended families in the U.S.,” reads a press release from Lights for Liberty event organizers in Hanover.

Presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke is scheduled to appear at the vigil Friday at the Peterborough Town House as a stop on his immigration-focused tour of New Hampshire this weekend.

A total of 11 towns across New Hampshire will be holding the vigils include Dover, Hanover, Keene, Nashua, North Conway, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Tamworth, Wilton, and Wolfeboro.
