The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is reopening a retail space for its industry programs.

The renovated showroom in Concord will be open five days a week starting today, selling furniture, artwork, crafts and more.

Administrator Ronald Cormier says the retail space helps support the program's goals.

"It allows us to present a face to the public of some of the things we're trying to do to help the inmates develop skills, generate some income, pay restitution, send some money back to their families even while incarcerated," Cormier says.

About 300 inmates take part in the industry programs.
