Jindal Joins Havenstein On Campaign Trail
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is joining Republican gubernatorial candidate Walt Havenstein for two education related campaign stops.
Jindal, who is likely considering a run for president in 2016, will visit a charter school in Manchester Friday then tour US FIRST, a robotics program for elementary, middle and high school students. Havenstein faces Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan in the Nov. 9 election. Jindal has focused on education policy during his two terms in office, and he recently sued the federal government over the Common Core education standards. Havenstein favors school choice and has promoted science, technology, engineering and math education as a FIRST board member.
Jindal appears to be positioning himself for a presidential run and spoke earlier this year at a conference held by the New Hampshire Republican Party.
