Special Broadcast: New Hampshire's Unemployment System

Thousands of workers in the Granite State are finding themselves out of jobs as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.  The state is seeing a record number of unemployment claims, with April figures expected to be at historic levels. For many newly-unemployed, questions remain about how best to navigate state resources and federal payments.

Join NHPR this Thursday, April 23, for a special extra edition of The Exchange, looking at New Hampshire’s unemployment system. The program will run live from 1 to 2 p.m.

Host Peter Biello will be joined by NHPR reporter Todd Bookman, and New Hampshire Employment Security deputy commissioner Rich Lavers.

Send us your questions and stories in advance of the program, to exchange@nhpr.org. Listeners can also call-in live during the broadcast hour from 1 to 2 p.m, at 1-800-892-6477.

Tricia directs external communications, marketing and engagement efforts for New Hampshire Public Radio, working to raise further awareness of the high-quality journalism at NHPR and the organization’s deep community outreach.
