N.H. Market Basket Vendors Pull Out In Support Of Workers

Some New Hampshire food and beverage vendors who supply Market Basket's shelves say they're backing workers by no longer selling products to the beleaguered grocery chain.

Moonlight Meadery of Londonderry makes honey wine, and the company's founder, Michael Fairbrother, says Market Basket was his biggest retail client, accounting for about one-third of sales.

"This is a family," says Fairbrother, who also worked for Market Basket as a teenager. "These are people that put their heart and soul into doing the right thing. And I believe in that, and that's why we're standing strong behind them."

Fairbrother says he'll start selling to the chain when former CEO Arthur T. Demoulas is reinstated and workers are back on the job. Moonlight Meadery has lost more then $9,000 in sales since it cut ties with the grocery chain, and Fairbrother also claims Market Basket owes his company about $1,000.

Both sides in the Demoulas family dispute say they're making an effort to reach a deal by the end of the week.
