Four more former employees of a state-run youth detention facility in Manchester have been arrested on sexual assault charges, bringing the total number arrested to 11 as the state continues to investigate decades of alleged abuse.
The Attorney General’s office is charging Jonathan Brand, 56, of Concord with two counts of sexual assault of a resident in 2007 inside what is now called the Sununu Youth Services Center. Victor Malavet, 58, of Gilford is facing seven counts for allegedly assaulting a resident in 2001. Trevor Middleton, 52, of Belmont is facing two sexual assault charges for alleged abuse occurring between 1999 and 2001. Stanley Watson, 52, of Allenstown is charged with three counts for alleged assaults on two former residents in the late 1990s.
In early April, seven men, all of whom were former employees at the youth detention facility, were arrested on similar allegations.
A separate civil lawsuit has drawn forward more than 250 former residents of the facility who say they were victimized dating as far back as the 1960s. That matter is pending in superior court.
